The important role of nature in haiku poetry is due to a basic characteristic of haiku that is the concrete imagery, expressed in direct and simple language, and on the other hand, the great depth at which the poet-reader connection is achieved. The meaning of the words in a haiku is different compared to their basic role in other genres that use them. In haiku, the words do not “tell” but rather help the reader to get into a space beyond them. They serve to draw a picture. The reader sees mainly the picture, as if the words are transparent. We can say that the pictorial code prevails over the linguistic code
